Elegant & Tranquil Master Bedroom

The purpose of this design was to create an elegant and tranquil master bedroom. The client wanted it to be bold and classic but modern.

The first step to the design was to create a graphic accent wall. To accomplish this, the back wall was treated with a large damask crème tone-on-tone wallpaper. An upholstered metal canopy bed was chosen as the focal point. Sleek bachelor chests in white oak with a stainless steel overlay on the drawer fronts flank each side of the tall bed with a pair of tall gold lamps. An upholstered chair covered in lamb’s wool was chosen to add seating to the space. A nine-drawer dresser with a reeded design on the drawer fronts was added for storage.

For the bedding, a solid coverlet banded in silver embroidered strips serves as the foundation. Euro shams were made from a cream velvet fabric. King shams were made from a platinum textured fabric and accented in a gray cord. A small kidney pillow constructed from gold and silver metallic fabric ads shimmer to the bed. To complete the look two fur pillows were added to the bed ensemble for additional luxury.

For the windows a soft cream sheer was installed for privacy. Drapery panels fabricated from soft crème linen with large velvet tape trim were selected. To add a touch of glamor, acrylic hardware was used with crystal finials.

To complete the look, a 3-tier chrome chandelier with crystal drops was added. Beveled mirrors sparkle above the pair of bachelors chests and accessories were added to complete the look.
